It is rumored that preparations are underway for “New Magic Kingdom Area Hotels” as a permit was filed with the South Florida Water Management District showing that Disney may be looking to create a 30-acre site for “temporary stockpiling of earthwork””. This 30-acre site is located adjacent to the old STOLPort from the 1970s, parallel to World Drive and north of the Magic Kingdom Toll Plaza. So yes, this could just be “stockpiling of earthwork” but we are curious that it could develop into more. We’ll keep a close watch on this project referred to as “STOLPort Site”. Maybe a second DVC tower at Disney’s Contempory Resort? Only time will tell if this rumor will come to fruition.
