Disney’s Halloween season is my absolute favorite. Bring Disney Halloween enchantment into your own house by creating this Mickey pumpkin.
Step 1: Supplies
To make this Mickey pumpkin, all you will need is:
- 1 medium sized pumpkin
- 2 small pumpkins, equally proportioned
- black acrylic paint
- small paint brushes
- shish kebab skewers
- a ballpoint pen
Step 2: Draw Mickey’s Face
I opened the photograph above, which was taken in Disneyland, on my computer and sketched an outline for the eyes, nose, and mouth using it as a guide.
I discovered that using a ballpoint pen works best since you can erase any errors with water and a little washing!
Step 3: Fill in With Paint
Fill in the eyes, nose, and mouth with black acrylic paint using small paint brushes.
Step 4: Prepare the Ears
Measure out about 3 inches down the length of the shish kebab stick, starting with the pointed end, and cut to size. Repeat for the second one.
Then, put the stick’s pointed end into one of the tiny pumpkin’s sides.
Step 5: Placement and Make Two Holes
Play with the little pumpkin that will serve as Mickey’s ear to determine the optimum angle and location.
When you’re finished, note the location of the hole. To make a hole in the bigger pumpkin, use the pointed end of a third shish kebab stick.
Step 6: Attach the Ears

Insert the tiny pumpkin ear stick into the hole. Repeat for the second ear, adjusting the ear angles as needed.
Step 7: Enjoy Disney Halloween Magic!
Take a step back and enjoy your Mickey pumpkin.
