Nearly a quarter of a century after the release of Aladdin, the actors who played Aladdin and Jasmine reunited on Good Morning America Friday (Oct. 9) morning to perform the classic song “A Whole New World.”
Brad Kane and Lea Salonga joined GMA accompanied by composer Alan Menken on piano for the performance, celebrating the film’s Blu-ray release on Oct. 12. Meanwhile others of the film’s creators watched on as well.
This was the first time Kane and Salonga had sung the classic Disney ballad since performing at the 65th Academy Awards in 1993, at which they won for Best Original Song.
“We did it!”
Kane said excitedly afterwards, seemingly glad to have pulled off the performance on live television after 22 years, as he and Salonga embraced.
