But why remake a classic? As Director Bill Condon says, technology has caught up to the ideas movie makers have. What could only be fantasy before can now be rendered in a photo-realistic look. Disney already had tremendous success with this in the live-action Jungle Book. We shall see if Beauty and the Beast can follow suit.
