The Skywalker story may have come to an end in 2019, but if you’ve been keeping up with the latest speculations, a Star Wars Episode X may be in the works, perhaps generating a completely new trilogy that will still be related to the narrative and continue up where Episode IX — The Rise of Skywalker ended.

Because we still have projects like The Mandalorian Season 3, The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Ahsoka lined up, it’s reasonable to conclude that Lucasfilm isn’t looking forward in terms of coming up with a completely new cinematic trilogy.

According to a recent report from YouTube channel The Den of Nerds, Disney is working on a new trilogy that will closely follow the events of the controversial sequels. They didn’t go into detail about the purported project, but according to the rumor, Lucasfilm is preparing to revive Kylo Ren, who perished in the last moments of The Rise of Skywalker. Again, the specifics were not disclosed, so take it with a grain of salt, as fascinating as it may seem.

Kylo Ren is unquestionably one of the sequel trilogy’s redeeming features, and his death in Episode IX came as a big shock to many fans. As things stand, it’s still a bit too difficult to determine if Lucasfilm is working on a new “sequel sequel trilogy” just two years after the last one ended, let alone bringing back Ben Solo from the grave. I suppose we’ll have to wait and see how things turn out.

Disney+ has the whole Skywalker saga available for streaming.
