Sea World protesters dressed as orcas at Orlando International Airport

Passengers arriving at Orlando International Airport got a surprise on Tuesday when a pair of “orcas” climbed on top of the baggage carousels to lead a group of PETA members in calling on tourists to stay away from the cruel circus-style orca shows at SeaWorld this holiday season. One of the “orcas” was arrested and charged with misdemeanor trespass and taken to an Orange County jail.

Bryan Wilson was charged with misdemeanor trespassing on property after a warning.

Another protester left the scene after being warned that an arrest was imminent.

A police report says Wilson refused to move.

The protesters held signs saying, “SeaWorld: Orcas Deserve Better” and “SeaWorld Hurts Orcas.”

Police officers say the baggage carousel had to be shut down while the protesters sat on an island in the middle of the carousel belt.

He spent the night in jail and was released Wednesday on his own recognizance.

Wilson said Wednesday that any discomfort he faced in jail was nothing compared to what orcas face in captivity.
