Disney’s Toy Story Hotel launch date is set for next year.
The new hotel is set to debut on April 5, 2022, and will offer visitors a variety of Toy Story-themed rooms and amenities. Outside the hotel, there are gigantic play figures of Toy Story characters including Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, and Bo Peep, as well as a jigsaw puzzle floor, a board game ceiling, and other toy-like embellishments. Individual hotel rooms are designed to look like Andy’s room from the original Toy Story film, complete with cloud and sky decor and a Pixar light. The clock is meant to seem like an enlarged Mickey Mouse wristwatch, and the TV is framed in an etch-a-sketch.
The Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel has a total of 595 rooms, as well as several shops and restaurants. Gift Planet (which offers unique stuff) and Shop Together (which sells convenience store-style things) are two of the stores. The Lotso Garden Cafe, named after the antagonist from Toy Story 3, is one of the eateries.
The Toy Story brand continues to be popular among Disney fans, having a strong presence at several Disney parks. Disneyland’s Pixar Pier has the Toy Story Mania and Jessie’s Critter Carousel attractions, while Disney’s Hollywood Studios includes a whole Toy Story Land with the iconic Slinky Dog Dash ride. Toy Story Mania may also be found in Tokyo DisneySea, one of the Tokyo Disney Resort’s two parks.
The Toy Story Hotel’s debut coincides with the premiere of the first trailer for Lightyear, a unique extension of the Toy Story universe from Disney. Chris Evans plays a “real life” Buzz Lightyear in the forthcoming animated film, which is based on the toy version seen in the Toy Story movies. The origins of Star Command and the mystique around the toy will be explored in this new film. Surprisingly, Disney had previously experimented with this notion in the early 2000s with the Buzz Lightyear of Star Command TV series.
Sid Philips is a father of two and a loving husband. He currently resides in Pennsylvania and has been a fan of Disney since his parents took him there in 1980! Sid has visited multiple Disney parks around the world and loves each one!
