Get a sneak peek into a section of Universal Orlando Resort’s Epic Universe!

While the specifics of the new park are still under wraps, one section already under construction bears a resemblance to the Super Nintendo World expansion recently unveiled at Universal Studios Hollywood. Epic Universe is rumored to feature lands themed around “Fantastic Beasts,” “How to Train Your Dragon,” and Universal Classic Monsters.

To get a glimpse of what’s in store for Florida when Epic Universe opens, likely in 2025, Rob from visited Universal Studios Hollywood earlier this month during the “technical rehearsal” of Super Nintendo World, where beloved characters from the Super Mario Bros. video games come to life.

Super Nintendo World welcomes visitors through a familiar green pipe, a nod to the iconic Super Mario Bros. games. Once inside, guests are treated to an immersive experience resembling the vibrant world of Super Mario, complete with familiar music and sound effects from the games.

The land is filled with lively animatronic figures, such as Yoshi, Goombas, and piranha plants, adding to the overall charm and excitement. For an enhanced experience, visitors can opt to purchase an interactive Power-Up wristband, enabling interactions with various elements throughout the land, earning digital rewards, accumulating points, and collecting digital stamps.

While Universal Studios Hollywood’s Super Nintendo World is the first in the U.S., a version was previously opened at Universal Studios Japan in 2021. The Florida iteration is expected to have similarities with the Japanese version, featuring up to three rides, including its own version of Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, which debuted in California.

The Mario Kart ride at Super Nintendo World provides an exhilarating experience combining on-track driving and interactive shoot-em-up elements. The riders, equipped with Mario-style red hats and visors, engage in a fun-filled competition while aiming to prevent Team Bowser from winning the Golden Cup.

Apart from the Mario Kart attraction, Super Nintendo World offers the Toadstool Café, serving delectable dishes such as Toadstool Cheesy Garlic Knots, a Luigi Pesto Chicken Burger, and Princess Peach Cupcakes. The land also hosts four challenges that can be completed using the wristband, unlocking the chance to face off against Baby Bowser in the Shadow Showdown.

Rob’s visit to Super Nintendo World left a lasting impression of a fully immersive experience where guests feel involved in the action, creating lasting memories for both gaming enthusiasts and nostalgic fans of the original Nintendo Entertainment System. is a participant in the Amazon Associates Program.
