Universal Orlando Resort has just announced that Universal’s Great Movie Escape will be its first-ever escape room. Fans will be able to try their luck in two new escape rooms based on the epic movies Jurassic World and Back to the Future. These multi-sensory puzzle rooms are designed to be as realistic as possible.
Soon, thrill-seekers will be able to visit the elaborate worlds of Steven Spielberg’s 1985 Back to the Future, with Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly and Christopher Lloyd as Dr. Brown, as well as Colin Trevorrow’s first dinosaur-epic, Jurassic World. The rooms are called “can’t-miss” experiences and will have next-level escape puzzles based on the creative stories and themes that make the destination park famous. Both rooms were thought up and made by the same people who make Halloween Horror Nights’ terrifyingly real scare zones, which have had themes from The Cabin in the Woods, The Walking Dead, Alien vs. Predator, The Purge, and other movies. The Great Movie Escape from Universal will be right in the middle of the Universal CityWalk.
People who go to the theme park will be able to take part in state-of-the-art missions in the rooms. These missions will be told in a way that is interesting and will have complex, detailed sets that will draw people into the adventures. Fans will be able to choose between the chaos of Back to the Future and maybe getting a ride in Doc’s DeLorean or dodging dinosaurs with raptor trainer Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) and maybe catching a glimpse of the genetically modified Indominus Rex.
Even though we don’t know much about the escape rooms yet, we do know that both of the movies on which they are based are about races against time. In Spielberg’s Back to the Future, the strange Doc Brown uses the plutonium-powered DeLorean time machine to send Marty McFly back in time 30 years. McFly has to solve his own puzzle to get back to the present and make sure that his parents meet and fall in love so that he can live. If you want even more at stake, the Jurassic World escape room will take place in a theme park inside a park in the real Jurassic World, where scientists have once again pushed the limits of what humans can do. In the movie, dinosaurs, including the powerful hybrid Indominus Rex, have taken over a park, and every second counts.
Universal Orlando Resort is the company’s amusement park, which is known for its thrilling rides that are based on movies. The parks are split up into sections like “Harry Potter” and “Jurassic Park,” and they have rides based on movies like “Jaws,” “ET: The Extra-Terrestrial,” “The Mummy,” and “Transformers.” The other Universal parks are in Osaka, Japan, Beijing, China, and Singapore.
Universal’s Great Movie Escape will open at Universal CityWalk later this year, in the Fall. In the months before it opens, people will be able to buy tickets.
Professor Tom Morrow was originally a spacecraft missions director who oversaw spacecraft travels from Earth to the moon, notably with the Moonliner space-ship. In later attractions, Mr. Morrow is the mayor of Tomorrowland and a promoter of the latest technological advancements.
