A man claims that Disney ‘brainwashes’ theme park visitors into purchasing snacks.

For many years, the Disney Parks have been recognized for their amazing delicacies such as popcorn, Mickey ice cream bars, churros, and much more. However, according to a new idea circulating on the internet, these magical locations may be going to unethical lengths to encourage tourists to acquire these things. This hypothesis, in particular, asserts “brainwashing.”

The hypothesis is depicted below in a TikTok video by user @hangryblogger. The TikToker claims in the video that the firm employs “Smellitizers” to make the park smell like good cuisine throughout its numerous themed regions.

Do you ever smell the churros first before seeing them at Disneyland? #disneyland #churros #disneyeats #disneyparks

Those speakers do, in fact, disperse certain smells across the park.

Candy stores, ice cream shops, popcorn stalls, and rides all employ Smellitizers, according to a June post from user @JustTheNobodys, who recorded the original audio @hangryblogger posted.

According to Jody Jean Dreyer, a former Disneyland employee, in an interview with Fast Company, these devices are a true part of the park and are claimed to “provide a full experience” for tourists. The devices, however, are believed to be meant to improve your feelings and experience rather than to sell you products.

“Did you know Disneyland actually brainwashes you every time you visit?” a voice said in the video. “Have you ever walked by a building with a bunch of speakers on it but no sound is coming out?”
