The air is thick with anticipation as Disney approaches “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” and prepares for this historic occasion at Walt Disney World Resort… and beyond.
With so much excitement ahead, we want you to feel immersed in the enchantment as soon as you arrive in Central Florida, which is why a brilliant crew of cast members is hard at work with the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority to enhance the arrival experience at Orlando International Airport (MCO) (GOAA).
Airport passengers will discover many exciting Disney touches, including a wide-ranging art installation in the terminal train stations featuring favorite Disney characters, new magic engaging passengers as they walk through a glistening glow of projected EARidescent light patterns, and an immersive photo opportunity with a re-creation of a Disney ride vehicle to capture special memories as they make their way through the airport.
“We’re delighted to be working with GOAA on a new Magic of Disney retail site launching alongside the South Terminal Complex in 2022 as part of this exceptional airport redevelopment.” Said a Disney spokesperson.
In 2022, the airport will also add a “Magic of Disney” store in its south terminal.
Meanwhile, certain flourishes are appearing at Walt Disney World. The Cinderella Castle recently had a facelift, with accents of gold bunting and gold decorations placed throughout the castle. It also has a huge 50th-anniversary crest over the main entrance.
The Disney World 50th anniversary celebrations will begin at the theme parks on October 1 and will last for 18 months. When they attend, guests will be able to enjoy loads of new anniversary programming, including two new evening spectaculars.
Attractions like as the Tree of Life and the Hollywood Tower Hotel will have a new evening glow, and the outfits of the characters will have gold 50th-anniversary accents.
