Walking along Main Street, U.S.A. and seeing the famous Partners Statue of Mickey Mouse and Walt Disney always gives me a wonderful sensation. The new Disney Fab 50 Character Collection of sculptures being placed for the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration will inspire the same feeling of surprise and excitement in guests that this monument has done at the Magic Kingdom Park.
Today, I’m thrilled to inform that the first Disney Fab 50 sculptures have arrived to join in the fun. For the next 18 months of the celebration, you may visit Magic Kingdom Park and see some of your favorite characters in their new home.
The stories that have inspired us to dream larger, follow our interests, and believe in the power of magic are represented by these 50 characters. Each character is a part of the Walt Disney World Resort’s history of hope and optimism, where “two little wings” become a source of inspiration, sidekicks become heroes, and unexpected pairs become the closest of friends.
Over the past two months, partners have gathered from across The Walt Disney Company to unveil these fan-favorite characters. Friends from Disney+, Pixar, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Lucasfilm, Disney Channel, ESPN, shopDisney, Disney Vacation Club, Disney Publishing, D23, Disney Movie Insiders, National Geographic, Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Line and more have shared in the celebration by announcing these sculptures.
These “Disney Fab 50” statues pay tribute to Walt Disney World’s previous 50 years while greeting us into the future 50 and beyond.
These sculptures will further immerse guests in a world of imagination and tomorrow, where laughter, joy, and that ethereal pixie dust will deliver a lifetime of memories to everyone who visit The Most Magical Place on Earth as they continue to search for their favorite characters.
As you encounter these beautiful sculptures, snap a photo and share on social with #DisneyWorld50. And stay tuned in the coming days as more of our fab-ulous 50 friends arrive at all four parks to help us kick off “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” for the next 18 months.
Enjoy this special message from the storytellers, performers, leaders, and cast members who have contributed their voices, talent, and personal touch to bring these characters to life.
