Disney: Youngest zebras now ‘on stage’ at Animal Kingdom

What’s black and white and ready for their close-ups? The young female zebras that can now be seen by visitors at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park.

The two Grevy’s zebra foals — named Youka and Zalicka — were born in April and May at Animal Kingdom, and they are now visible in the park’s Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail. They previously had been out of sight, behind the scenes, bonding with their mothers.

Members of Disney’s animal care team say the young ones are sticking pretty close to their moms and that that is how they learn natural behaviors such as chewing hay and rolling around in the dust.

Among the other animals along the trail are meerkats and western lowland gorillas.

Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail is located near the entrance of the Kilimanjaro Safaris attraction in the Africa section of Animal Kingdom.
