With an array of eclectic dishes and beverages, adults are usually easily entertained at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.
The same can’t be said for children. It’s no secret the festival and theme park is geared toward an older crowd.
Enter Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak, a family-friendly scavenger hunt in its second year at the festival.
The premise is simple.
First, buy a map and sticker packet ($8.99, plus tax) at one of the following locations inside Epcot: Disney Traders, Festival Center, Pin Central, Port of Entry and World Traveler (International Gateway). Then circle the World Showcase in search of Remy, the star of Disney’s “Ratatouille.”
The lovable blue rodent can be found in the countries around World Showcase with ingredients that correspond to the stickers. His hiding places for 2016 are different from last year — and harder to find, we think — so if you’ve done this before, it’s a new experience.
Find Remy with each ingredient and fill out the map with the stickers respectively. There’s a total of 12.
The story behind it is that you’re helping Remy collect the ingredients for his signature dish, Ratatouille.
But lets be honest, you’re doing it for the prize.
The map can be turned in at Port of Entry (completed or not) to redeem one of six limited release pins, which are copies of the stickers — Remy with ingredients like carrots, celery and zucchini.
The scavenger hunt is a great way to keep children entertained and engaged while mom and dad explore the food and drinks of the World Showcase.
Some are the Remy’s are easy to spot, while others are surprisingly well camouflaged, which can make this as fun for adults as it is for children.
The Hide & Squeak pins are subject to availability, as are the maps and sticker sheets. The promotion ends with the festival on Nov. 14.
