Maskless Parents Push Crying Child in Stroller Out of Their Picture in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

  • Video was shared on the Influencers in the Wild Instagram account
  • Parents are seen posing for a photo in the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge section of Disney World’s Hollywood Studios
  • Mother pauses to move their child’s stroller, which is parked in front of them
  • She pushes it several feet off to the side and returns to smile for a photo with her partner
  • Critics are slamming them for being too concerned with the photo, ignoring their child, and pushing him too far away to keep an eye on him
  • Those defending the couple say they’d do the same, and there’s nothing wrong with wanting a photo without one’s child

A video of parents pushing their child out of the way so that they could take a photo at Disney World has sparked a divided reaction among social media users.

The video, which was shared yesterday by the TikTok account Influencers in the Wild, shows a pair of young parents posing for a photo in the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge section of Disney World’s Hollywood Studios.

When they realize that their crying child’s stroller will be in front of them in the shot, the mother wheels him off several feet away and returns to her partner to smile for the camera.

The super-short clip was shared on an account that documents the lengths that people go to in order to get perfect social media photos.

In this case, both mother and father were willing to let their young son be several feet away and out of their line of sight so that they could get a perfectly-posed photo without him at a Disney theme park.

When the video begins, the couple is already smiling with their arms around one another, posing for a stranger with their phone several feet away.

In front of them is a box that they have rested on the pavement and their child, sitting and crying out in a stroller.

The mother pauses her pose, takes hold of the stroller, and pushes it several feet off to the side — so far, in fact, that while the child certainly won’t be in the photo, other strangers who are standing closer to the couple will be.

The mother, dressed in baggy pants and a crop top, returns to her denim shorts-clad partner and puts her arm back around him for the photo.

Both smile at the camera, neither looking at their child several feet away or concerned about including the little one in a picture from their family trip to the Happiest Place on Earth.

Off-camera, a spectator can be heard remarking with a laugh, ‘They moved the kid out of the way.’

Commenters have had a mixed reaction to the video, with several condemning the parents and one going so far as to say there ‘should be a license to breed.’

‘They really said “it don’t fit our aesthetic,’ quipped one.

‘It’s not that she wanted a pic of just them. It’s how she just kinda pushed kid off to the side and ignored him/her crying,’ said another.

‘I think the issue is just how FAR she pushed them away… in a crowd of people lol. Not even off to the side/out of the way,’ said one more.

‘Their child could have been kidnapped & they wouldn’t have noticed for 3-5 minutes w/all that stupid posing,’ said yet another

Some are less concerned with the treatment of the child and more upset about the couple taking off their masks — which Disney tells visitors not to do, even for photos.

But others don’t see the problem, speculating that the child is crying and doesn’t want to take more pictures — and saying that it’s perfectly reasonable for a couple to want a shot of just themselves.

‘I’d be the same,’ wrote one. ‘Disney is damn expensive!! Get as many pictures as you can (with and without your kids).

‘Yassss queen! As you should! I have two kids. I know what it’s like,’ one woman added.

‘The kid don’t even wanna be in the picture lmao y’all relax,’ said another.

‘He was ruining the pic anyways,’ another commenter joked.
