Purple MagicBands coming soon to Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World is giving fans of grapes, Barney the dinosaur and the Orlando City Soccer Club a new reason to smile today: Soon they will be able to have a purple MagicBand.

Purple will join the solid-color lineup — red, orange, blue, gray, pink, yellow and green — later this month, according to a post on the official Disney Parks Blog. The purple incarnation will be available for retail purchase.

The embedded-chip bracelets are part of Disney’s MyMagic+ program, and they can serve as theme park tickets, FastPass+ reservation holders, PhotoPass organizers and hotel room keys, among other roles. Since the introduction of MagicBands in 2014, dozens of additional designs have been added for special events (Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party), characters (princesses, Olaf, Stitch, Orange Bird) and attractions (Haunted Mansion).

There are also attachable MagicBand accessories and the option to customize the bands with images and type.
