In a letter to guests at the campground, Disney officials said it is monitoring the progress of the hurricane and asking guests to “re-confirm your plans for the next two evenings.”
Disney said it is working with guests on an individual basis, accommodating requests for relocating when necessary but also encouraging those who are able to leave the area to do so. A Disney spokeswoman said it would make more sense for people to leave the property with their RVs than to risk damage to their vehicles. The letter advises guests to contact a Disney representative at the campground or call 407-824-2727.
There has been no word from Disney about whether its theme parks will close. SeaWorld has announced it will close early Thursday and that it will be shut down all day Friday. Universal Orlando also has not yet announced any closure plans.
